After 10 years of political satire on his expense on Israel's most popular satirical TV show - "Eretz Nehederet" (A Wonderful Country), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to show up for a special episode in honor of the program’s tenth anniversary, which will air on the eve of Independence Day next week.
According to media reports, the eight-minute sketch in which the Prime Minister participated in, involved a double interview conducted by host Eyal Kitzis – one with the real Netanyahu and the other with 'Mariano Edelman' who plays and impersonates Netanyahu, pretty authentically, on the show.
Even though the questions were sent to the Prime Minister’s Office in advance of the show, Netanyahu and his aides then spent quite few hours devising humorous responses and satire punch lines to show the other side of himself.

Eretz Nehederet, that was featured in a NY Times piece during the election season, gained national exposure and international recognition by non other than President Obama on his visit to Israel last month. “I want to clear something up just so you know – any drama between me and my friend, Bibi, over the years was just a plot to create material for 'Eretz Nehederet,'” Obama said in his keynote address to the Israeli public. “That’s the only thing that was going on. We just wanted to make sure the writers had good material.”
