Personal Note: Why I Will Not Serve As A Barrier To Satmar Unity Deal

Per requests by many of the Satmar community in Williamsburg, especially by prominent leaders of the Ahroiny sect., I have decided to take this unprecedented step of removing a blog post I wrote this week.

As you might well be aware, the Satmar community in Williamsburg is split into two dominated large and growing factions. The story I wrote about councilman Steve Levin dancing at the wedding of a known activist has caused great outrage in Williamsburg, which of course was not my intention.

According to insiders from both factions, a deal was worked out to keep the rift and political fight on low flame. Since Mr. fried has married and is moving to Kiryas Joel in Monroe county, the Aronim and the Zalinites are not looking to ignite another forest fire, and therefore both sides have agreed to lay low, to halt the guns and keep out of trouble in the near future, according to sources familiar with the deal.

My story as written, I was told, would deal a decisive blow to these understandings.

So, out of respect to the Satmar community and in order not to be the man in the middle blamed for the infighting and political bickering, I am placing special interest, and the interest of all those who seek and yearn for peace and unity, above free press and accurate reporting and removing the post.
