Blog Post on Bush vs. Obama economy

Dubya is back..Thanks to Obama.

It wasn't so long ago that Americans decried the Bush era and voted in the clean-up guy, and optimistically hoping for a leader that would mend our relations with the Arab world and our allies in Europe.

How did that work out for you, folks?

George W. Bush was asked on Monday, by an ABC reporter about a possible endorsement of the presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Bush mumbled out a "I'm for Mitt Romney" before the elevator door shut on him. While this was a mum and lukewarm endorsement, the Democrats and the Obama campaign blasted Romney as embracing the Bush endorsement (Isn't he a Republican?), and of course blamed ALL of America's problems on Romney's shoulders.

In an email to supporters, Obama's campaign manager (I still don't know how this wimp got the job), Jim Messina wrote this: "President Bush may have endorsed Governor Romney today, but Romney has already endorsed a return to Bush-era policies: massive tax cuts weighted towards the wealthiest costing $5 trillion, zero accountability for Wall Street, and a reckless foreign policy that would keep our troops in Afghanistan indefinitely," the email said.

"Where was I over the past 3 and half years?", Americans are asking themselves reading this.

President Bush was President for 8 years, with signs of a recession in the makings only seven weeks after President Bush took office, America experienced six years of economic growth and 52 straight months of job creation - 8 million jobs. The unemployment rate was at 5.3 percent. After-tax income per capita increased by more than 11 percent. And from 2000 to 2007, real GDP grew by more than 17 percent, a gain of nearly $2.1 trillion. And the 2008 financial crisis took place almost 2 years after the Democrats took over power in Congress.

Now, compare that 8 years with Obama's 3 and a half year record: An unemployment rate that never went below 8 percent for over 38 months, millions of Americans leaving the work force, and he overall unemployment rate,is now reported to be around 18 percent.

As of the national debt, according to CNSNews, In the 39 months since Barack Obama took the oath of office as president of the United States, the federal government’s debt has increased by $5,027,761,476,484.56. '$5 trillion' in only 3 years. During the full eight years that George W. Bush served as president, the federal government's debt increased by $4,899,100,310,608.44. (Rising from $5,727,776,738,304.64 to $10,626,877,048,913.08.)

Oh, and how can we forget the $862 billion stimulus package, that Obama assured us that unemployment would not exceed 8 percent; instead, unemployment topped 10 percent until January 2012 and is still as of now above 8 percent. Not to mention the cost of Obama's policies on the deficit, which will cost America an estimated $5 Trillion, compared to Bush's policies $1.44 Trillion cost.

With regard to national security and foreign policy, the once promoted strong Obama's suit, is also falling apart. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, American voters now trust Mitt Romney on all major issues, over President Obama. That includes a 46-44 edge over Obama in handling America's foreign policy.

The "Reckless foreign policy" is none other than Obama's muslim-world approach, the Arab Spring that turned into an Islamic winter and the timid and slow response to Iran's development of nuclear weapons.

So before, Obama goes on attack, by blaming Bush, Romney and whoever for the economic crisis, or by desperately urging voters to match Mitt Romney's positions and policies to those of Bush, we say: Take off your dancing shoes, and take a look at reality. Americans should look backward in order to take the path forward with the Republican fiscal policies and pro-freedom and liberty ideals.

Update: per FN poll:
"Compared to four years ago" 45/28% say #economy is in worse shape today; 31/23% say family’s financial situation worse today. — (@jacobkornbluh) May 16, 2012
